The Off-Season.

So, Washington SportsJam is officially on Summer Break now.  You may recall I posed a tentative Podcast Schedule a few months ago, that we’re doing our best to follow.  We had originally planned a longer end of season show but was unable to do so. We had talked about a Mid-Summer show to catch up on the miscellany, but all three of us have been incredibly busy. So our next actual podcast, won’t be until after Pre-season football is over.

Blog posts are obviously also slowing down, also because of time crunch. You may have noticed I have been posted older articles and blog posts. These are posts from my previous blogs, and I hope to have up all of them by the end of the summer. So you can, you know, know what I thought about the ‘Skins Draft last year.  Hopefully though, Matt and David will eventually join me, and you’ll hear from at least one of us once a week. I’ll still be checking the forums regularly, so if you want to tell us anything let us know there. Right now it’s mostly me talking to myself.

We have some other plans we hope to implement for the next season’s podcast. We hope to start posting minisodes, which will be shorter podcasts with no planning. It’ll just be us talking to each about sports we feel like talking about.  It will be similar in feel to the Penny Arcade Podcast. We want to give some more consistent content, and think this will also be a way for us to talk about things we don’t get to in the podcast. Things like UFC, Soccer, Fantasy Football,  Madden, maybe even Baseball. Also, these minisodes may not include all of us, it may be just two of us, or maybe even one of us. David and I like to talk MMA, but Matt can’t care less and Matt wants to talk Olympics, but no one else cares at all.  We’re even thinking of doing some short after the game ones as well.

Anyway, we want to continue to improve the podcast and build a community. At the same time we need to find a way to spend less time on it, so we think these might be good solutions. Let us know what you think about things. We started this thing over a year ago, just a fun thing to do as a little experiment. The reason we kept doing it was because we liked it and were surprised at the amount of people who enjoyed it as well. So thank you listeners, and we hope this upcoming season will be even better than our rookie year.
