If I Was Baseball Commisioner

Dan Patrick and Keith Olberman did a series on what they would do if they were baseball commissioner, football commish, and basketball commish. The only good idea they had was to take blood from every MLB player and keep it until a satisfactory HGH test is made. But they’re idiots. If was baseball commissioner:

1. I’d institute a salary cap. I mean let’s level the playing field so the Yankees aren’t in every other World Series.
2. Institute delay of game penalties. If a batter takes too long to get in the box that’s an automatic strike. If a pitcher stares at the plate too long without throwing a pitch, that’s an automatic ball. The games are taking too damn long.
3. Erase all the Career and Season records of the HR hitters who are suspected of Steroids. 61 is still the HR mark everyone should be chasing.
4. Make steroid testing better. Every player gets tested before training camp and then once a month randomly. They wouldn’t know whether it be on the road or at home. Those who have tested positive have to be tested once a week. If they test positive once it’s a 50 game suspension. Twice they lose a season. Three times goodbye. The three game suspension of Palmeiro was ludicrous.
